The Future Leaders Program is FPI’s oldest professional development program, and a core component of FPI’s efforts to engage and empower the next generation of foreign policy leaders. This year’s class includes participants with diverse experience in government, the private sector, academia, non-profits, and the U.S. military.”
At Avascent, Mr. Alden focuses on US and international defense markets with the Avascent Analytics team. As part of his portfolio he covers defense investment and military modernization plans in the Middle East and Southeast Asia regions, in order to provide forecasts for private sector clients.
Mr. Alden is currently a PhD candidate at the Johns Hopkins University (JHU) Department of Political Science where his research focuses on military modernization of rising powers. He also has extensive experience teaching courses on international security and military affairs at JHU. He holds an MA in Political Science from JHU and a BA in Political Science and Philosophy from Southern Illinois University.
