WASHINGTON, DC — On March 20, Avascent’s Jay Carmel highlighted the necessary expertise in aircraft controls needed to affect the trajectory of Flight 370. Carmel emphasized that anyone piloting the plane would have to be familiar with the ACARS system’s application and information-transmission components, the transponders, and how to enter new waypoints into the flight computer.
