AviationWeek’s Farnborough Edition highlights Avascent Global A&D Competitiveness Survey

A Chinese or South Korean firm can offer a low-cost good-enough solution”              —Jon Barney
AviationWeek & Space Technology highlighted information gleaned from Avascent’s recent survey on global Aerospace & Defense competitiveness. The magazine focused on the fact that U.S. A&D companies face increased international competition as compared to two years ago. Sales models that relied on government-to-government foreign military sales are no longer sustainable as countries become more interested in direct commercial sales. New, more proactive sales models will have to be designed for firms to remain competitive. To address this necessary, industry-wide shift in tactics, the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) is working to educate international customers on the U.S. export system, and to “improve communication and collaboration between industry and government in the U.S.”
