Rapid growth in airline demand for in-flight connectivity has spurred sizable SATCOM investment, with a 3x increase in High Throughput Satellite (HTS) capacity expected by 2024. Yet even as ~60% of the global fleet becomes “connected” and passenger take-rates improve, total SATCOM supply should still far exceed overall demand from both airline passengers and non-aviation domains.
