Alek counsels Avascent clients on strategy, value-creation, and new market penetration. His sector expertise encompasses aerospace & defense, energy, services, and public sector markets. Alek has played a major role in expanding Avascent’s international practice, focused on growth and strategy development in markets worldwide. As part of this effort, Alek has directed Avascent’s international defense analytics solution, a decision-support tool that covers some sixty international markets. As part of Avascent’s global consulting practice, he has led dozens of engagements focused on successful international market identification and entry strategies. More broadly, Alek has directed numerous engagements for clients focused on implementing best practices and technology innovation in regulated markets.
Previously, he was a consultant at Vantage Partners, where he counseled Fortune 500 firms on business negotiations and supplier and customer relationship management. Alek also served as an analyst at CENTRA Technology Inc., where he advised government clients on national security issues. He has also held research positions at the Brookings Institution and Georgetown University.
Alek holds a M.A. in International Relations & Economics from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). He received his B.A. with honors in Government from Wesleyan University. Alek is a frequent author of articles and publications on international business and technology issues.
