Alek counsels Avascent clients on a broad spectrum of critical issues involving strategy, value-creation, and new market penetration. His sector expertise encompasses aerospace & defense, services and infrastructure, and public sector markets. Alek has played a major role in expanding Avascent’s international practice, focused on growth and strategy development in markets outside the United States. As part of this effort, Alek has directed Avascent’s international defense analytics solution, a decision-support tool that covers some fifty international markets. As part of Avascent’s global consulting practice, he has led dozens of engagements focused on successful international market identification and entry strategies.
Previously, he was a consultant at Vantage Partners, where he counseled Fortune 500 firms on business negotiations and critical relationship management. Alek also served as an analyst at CENTRA Technology Inc., where he advised US Government clients on national security issues. He has also held research positions at the Brookings Institution and Georgetown University.
Alek holds a M.A. in International Relations & Economics from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). He received his B.A. with honors in Government from Wesleyan University. Alek is a frequent author of articles and publications on international affairs and business issues.
