James Thompson is a business capture and pricing expert at Avascent. He has led engagements spanning a range of growth strategy, competitive assessment and price-to-win analysis for companies pursuing top opportunities with Federal, State and Local customers. His clients include IT, engineering and professional services firms, hardware OEMs and systems integrators. Specifically, James has directed assignments providing clients detailed insight into numerous professional/engineering services, training & simulation, and transportation markets (i.e., public transit and commercial aerospace).
James has over 15 years of experience in defense and civil government markets. While on active duty with the Air Force, he served as an Acquisition Manager, where he led project teams which contributed to the delivery of space, aircraft, and command and control weapons systems for the DoD. In the private sector, James was an Engagement Manager at both Booz Allen Hamilton, and SM&A (ifour). He received his M.B.A. from the University of Southern California, and his B.S. in Management from the United States Air Force Academy.
