Vanda de la Mata is a Principal with Avascent, and a leader within the company’s mergers and acquisitions practice, serving both private equity and corporate clients. Ms. de la Mata’s focus on services and technology firms stems from over ten years working with services-based businesses in improving competitive positioning, capturing key contracts, and expanding through inorganic growth. As a lead in the services transaction practice, Ms. de la Mata works with financial and strategic clients in determining the underlying value proposition, competitive differentiators, contract and qualification synergies associated with inorganic targets. Her experience in capture support (“price to win”) and strategic planning for services firms allows Ms. de la Mata to provide contract-level and portfolio-level insights and recommendations on a business’ value proposition and operational dynamics.
Since joining Avascent in 2009, Ms. de la Mata has supported leading private equity firms and Fortune 500 firms on multiple engagements, from strategic market reviews to buy- and sell-side positioning. Her work has the spanned defense hardware and systems, logistics, IT services, commercial and military aviation and transportation sectors. Supporting over two dozen M&A engagements each year, her work has included such market-shaping deals such as PAE, Peraton/Harris IT, DXC/Vencore/KeyPoint, Wyle, CSC/SRA.
Prior to joining Avascent, Vanda worked with Maersk Line, Limited, a global transportation and logistics company. With Maersk, she supported opportunity vetting and go-to-market strategic planning, as well as RFI/RFP support. Ms. de la Mata holds an M.A. in European Studies (International Business and Government Relations) from the Georgetown Walsh School of Foreign Service, and a B.A. (cum laude) in Romance Languages from Harvard University.
