Ms. Strouse is a senior advisor to Avascent’s healthcare and citizen services practice, consulting on a wide range of issues faced by companies in this market, from early-stage market entry strategy development to merger and acquisition considerations. In addition to advising the Avascent team, she facilitates senior level strategy discussions for industry leaders across these issues, bringing deep expertise in issues of health industry transformation.
Ms. Strouse was formerly a Principal at Avascent, where she led consulting engagements for firms that were new to the healthcare community, helping them identify transferable capabilities as well as gaps in expertise. She has recommended strategies for complementing areas of strength with organic or inorganic investments as appropriate. She has also supported firms whose heritage was in the commercial healthcare market, and who may have had little experience with the federal government as a customer and vice versa.
Prior to joining Avascent Ms. Strouse was a Senior Consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton for several years. At Booz Allen she was a part of the Air Force Client Services team, providing strategic planning support to government clients at Headquarters Air Force and the National Guard. Ms. Strouse earned her MA in International Relations (concentration International Finance and European Studies) from the Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). She graduated cum laude with a dual degree in Economics and International Business from the University of Oklahoma. Ms. Strouse also completed a graduate certificate in Healthcare Information Technology at The George Washington University.
Ms. Strouse was the Vice Chair of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) Health Affairs Panel and a member of the Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Federal Health Community. She has been an active member of the Professional Services Council (PSC), a private-sector organization focused on protecting, maintaining, and expanding the federal government professional, engineering, and technical services industry. Ms. Strouse was also a core member of and contributing author for the GovCon Communications Committee which produces the GovCon Report. GovCon is a council of the Fairfax Chamber of Commerce.
