Avascent celebrates 15th Anniversary with Founders Day of Service

 In Company News

To commemorate Avascent’s Founders Day as well as its 15th Anniversary this year, Avascenturians took part in a Day of Service volunteering with charities across Washington, DC.

A group of Avascenturians helped our longtime partners at LightHouse DC reorganize their furniture warehouse to help their efforts to aid individuals and families transitioning from homelessness in our community move and furnish their new homes.

Back in the Avascent office, smaller groups provided pro-bono consulting for HBCU 20×20, which connects Black college students and graduates to quality job and internship opportunities; Perfect Inc., a small non-profit that helps formerly incarcerated women in DC find employment and reintegrate into the community; and Ally Theatre Company which produces theatre that is designed to engage audiences through acknowledging and confronting systemic oppression in America.

In addition, a team of sandwich-makers made 400 sandwiches for Martha’s Table in just two hours.

Our Avascent Charity Committee organizes Days of Service throughout the year, as well as ongoing charity efforts, and Avascent continues to be proud and honored to support the of work of these and other great organizations in this work.
