SATELLITE 2016 brings the industry together to discuss the most important issues on everyone’s plate for 2016-2017. The format includes:

Avascent is a partner with Access Intelligence for the Finance Forum on Monday March 7, and the conference. This year, the theme of the Finance Forum is “Innovation and Scale”. Through four sessions focusing respectively on the CFO’s perspective, implications for investment, shifts in demand, and the view from the CEO suite, participants will explore how varying trends and recent and ongoing decisions will shape finance and investment, and the industry itself.


 At the Finance Forum:

Stephen GanoteStephen Ganote, Principal at Avascent, will lead a panel that will walk through how “Shifting Sands of Demand” are affecting investment and marketing decisions of some of the industry’s key leaders: Matt Desch, CEO of Iridium; Evert Dudok, EVP of Communications, Intelligence and Security at Airbus DS, Bill Gattle, President of Space and Intelligence Systems at Harris, and Nathan Kundtz, CEO of Kymeta.

At the Mobility Forum:

Andrew Penn, Consultant at Avascent, will moderate a panel discussing the rapidly evolving M2M/IoT market and where new opportunity may lie for the satellite community: Satellite, M2M and the Internet of Things (IoT). Panelists include: Randy Roberts, Chief Innovation officer, Thuraya; Catherin Lewis, EVP at Mix Telematics; Tim Last, VP & MD, M2M Services, Iridium; Christian Allred, SVP International, Orbcomm; Cate van Oppen, BD Manager at Kymeta; and Mohammad Marashi, VP Strategic Innovation, Intelsat.

At the Industry & Innovation Forum:

David Belcher, Analysis Manager at Avascent, will be a speaker on the “Space Debris and Situational Awareness” panel for the Industry & Innovation Forum. Led by Stuart Eves, Lead Mission Concepts Engineer, Airbus Defence and Space, other speakers include: Christopher Stott, Chairman & CEO, ManSat LLC; Tom Pirrone, Executive Vice President, Swedish Space Corporation; and Paul Welsh, Vice President, Business Development, AGI.
