Chris Higgins’ Bio

Chris Higgins has over 17 years of industry, equity research, and consulting experience in the aerospace and defense sector.

Prior to re-joining Avascent, Chris served as the senior aerospace and defense analyst on the Morningstar equity research team, generating stock calls for institutional clients and large registered investment advisors. While at Morningstar Chris won four research awards, was interviewed on CNBC and Bloomberg, and was quoted by various media outlets, including the Financial Times and Washington Post.

Prior to his equity research work, Chris worked for Airbus serving in a variety of roles, including M&A, corporate strategy, finance, and investor relations. His M&A and strategy work included due diligence on numerous acquisition targets, annual portfolio reviews of Airbus’ operating units, and competitor assessments. During his time in the Airbus finance team, Chris led a team of analysts that assessed business unit performance, rolled out new financial metrics, and revamped the company’s incentive system. Chris’ last position at Airbus was on the investor relations team where he communicated Airbus’ equity story to sell-side and buy-side investors. He also organized and led the company’s annual investor day.

At the beginning of his career Chris worked for Avascent, leading teams on engagements such as new market entry strategies, M&A decisions, product launch assessments, and competitive intelligence.

Education

Chris graduated in the top 10% of his class at Rhodes College with a BA in Economics and received a Master of Science with distinction in Finance from Henley Business School. Chris is a CFA charterholder.
