Josh Pavluk’s Bio

Josh advises clients on developing and achieving their strategic growth objectives across the global aerospace & defense, homeland security, and public safety sectors. His specialties include advanced technology, innovation, electronics, unmanned systems, and international expansion.

Leveraging over ten years of industry experience, Josh serves clients from leading corporations on topics including growth strategy, competitive strategy, strategic partnerships, M&A, change management, and portfolio alignment.

With Josh’s counsel, executives have successfully launched new products, expanded market share, closed acquisitions, and aligned their organizations to strategy. Josh also directs internal engagement teams and plays an active role in the professional development of Avascent’s consulting staff.

Prior to joining Avascent in 2005, Josh served as a defense industry analyst at Jane’s Strategic Advisory Services in Washington. During Josh’s time at Jane’s he supported corporate clients on the development of international growth strategies.

Josh has authored several white papers including Unmanned Aerial Systems at a Crossroads and Redefining Asymmetric Warfare: Unmanned Swarm and the Third Offset. His commentary has appeared in publications including VentureBeat, National Defense, and GlobalPost.

Josh is a member of the Aero Club of Washington, Association of Unmanned Vehicle Systems International, (AUVSI) and Association of the United States Army (AUSA).

Education

Focusing on international politics, Josh holds a BSFS cum laude from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and an MS with merit from the University of London.
